Dario A. Boronat

Well if you clicked on this link it means that you want to know exactly who is behind  Prime Production Services LLC.  The first photo at right is of my wife and I in Paris, on our 20^th anniversary… I’m the one with the jacket.

To make a long story short, I was born in Havana Cuba and emigrated to the States when I was 7.  In December of 1972 I graduated from the renowned “RCA Television Directing, Production and Studio Operation” school in New York City.  I then graduated from Montclair State College (NJ) in 1976 with a BA in Speech & Theater, with a concentration in Broadcasting.

I started in this business with the original Spanish International Network (SIN) helmed by Rene Anselmo, a true broadcasting genius.  I then went to WABC in NY, returned to the SIN Network, and finally decided that I’d had enough of corporate life and politics.  It was time to set my own course.  I started Prime Production Services in 1984 to bring General Market quality to the Spanish Market, which was looking pretty sad at the time.  My first acquisition was a Sony 1610 camera and a VO-3800 3/4" deck.  If that equipment rings a bell, you are either graying or lacking hair altogether, just like me

Over the years Prime has worked on productions all over the United States, just about all of Latin America and parts of Asia and Europe.  I have spent about half my married life away from home in hotels and feel fortunate to be able to do so in an industry that I truly love.

My wife works in the sales side of the industry for one of the networks, which will go nameless.  We love to travel in the South West, but try to get to South America and Europe whenever possible in order to maintain our perspective on global culture.

My hobbies are bicycling, kayaking and being one with nature (covers a lot of territory).  The first two depending on weather and on how the body feels after many years of abuse.

We live in the NYC area, but have a weekend home (that we hope to make permanent) in Pennsylvania.  It’s a wonderful forest location, (photos at right) we have our own stream with trout, a small lake, bears, turkeys, deer, porcupines, otters, beavers and just about every other wild thing in the North East.  Our nearest neighbor is half a mile through the forest and at night you can actually see the Milky Way!    This is the place where our souls live, expand and heal.
